Bugs – Yuck!
When Spring arrives, so do they – Don’t forget to discuss proper flea and tick prevention for your pets!
If you’re not familiar with the most common bugs that are dangerous to your pets, PLEASE research and discuss the obvious bite or sting reactions with your vet. While a bee or wasp sting can be nothing more than irritating to your pet’s skin, it can fatal if it occurs inside their mouth. Curious dogs and cats will eat anything! Also, make sure to check around the exterior of your home for Triatomine Bugs AKA “Kissing Bugs.” They are now frequently seen throughout Ohio and they can sometimes carry the parasite which causes Chagas Disease. It’s a particularly serious illness with relatively few available treatments.
