About OPK9M
The Ohio Police K9 Memorial will pay tribute to the four-legged officers of Ohio who routinely put their lives in jeopardy for little more than a pat on the head. Not only will it honor those K9s that have died in the line of duty, but also those that have retired, passed away or are still serving their communities.
Initially, two granite walls will bear the names of K9s who have served in the State of Ohio with space allocated for future names. A third will be engraved with the poem “Guardians of the Night.” The centerpiece of the Memorial is a bronze statue by Lena Toritch of Young Fine Studios which has been installed at the Memorial site. The boulder was donated by Auxier. A museum housing K9 equipment and information will accompany the Memorial.
We are very excited to build this lasting remembrance of the K9s who have served our communities so well. These dogs do so much for us it is an honor to provide recognition of their lives.
Update: 2016 Oct 5 – Our bronze K9 has been placed on his boulder at the site and lighting has been installed. The cement foundation is also done.
Please know that I will NEVER ask my clients for donations, nor request they participate in any upcoming
activities, but I will pass on the information in case you should be interested.
